Hey there! I'm Willem Whitfield, a passionate storyteller and creative instigator on a mission to transform Australia's arts industry.

From the moment I graduated with a Creative Industries degree, I've been obsessed with bringing imaginative visions to life across different mediums. Whether crafting intricate worlds on stage, wrangling crews of 60+ artists for massive festival productions, or singlehandedly coordinating an entire filmmaking competition, I thrive on turning ambitious ideas into realities.

As an actor, I've appeared in challenging, physical performances with companies like Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, Brisbane Arts Theatre, and at major events like Woodford Folk Festival and Anywhere Festival. These roles reflect my passion for diving headfirst into daring artistic explorations.

But I'm equally driven to be the catalyst behind the scenes, enabling other artists' magic. I've production managed for Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, overseen sponsorships and marketing as Festival Director of 48 Hour Film Project, and founded my own experimental theatre group, Lightning Bolt Collective, where I served as the artistic director. Those electrifying moments when a team's collaborative spark combusts into something extraordinary are what I live for.

After being hand-picked for La Boite's prestigious Assembly program and delivering a bravura performance in my Midsumma debut with "Iago," I've recently landed in Melbourne, buzzing with inspiration for my next big creative venture.
